Established in 1934, The Lyme Nursery is a flagship of private day care and early years learning provision.  The proprietor, Richard Vernon, is a retired school teacher of 25 years experience having been Head of Department at one of Staffordshire's largest high schools.

The Nursery is situated in a mature setting in beautiful Victorian surroundings.  Our extensive outdoor play area, to the rear of the building is approximately 600m2 which includes lawned areas, a purpose built children's maze and safe-surface play area.

The Lyme Nursery will support your needs whether you are returning to work after maternity leave or requiring sociability skills for your baby/child.  It is important that you feel confident and have the peace of mind that you have made the best choice for your family.

We offer FREE Government funded places for 2*, 3 and 4 years olds.

We offer FREE taster sessions for all children once a place has been booked.

We offer FREE dance lessons with a professional dance teacher.

The Lyme Nursery will support you to have a healthy child.  We pride ourselves on providing a variety of nutritious home cooked meals that use seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables.  Our menus have been awarded the Healthy Eating Award by the NHS which gives our customers confidence in our commitment to keeping children healthy.  Our daily fee includes all milk, breakfast (cereal and toast), lunch/dessert and afternoon snacks/selection of fresh fruit.

The safeguarding of children in our care is fundamental.  We DO NOT publish the faces of our children's photo's on social networking sites (faces are hidden); the use of mobile phones is not allowed on the premises (staff and parents) and we operate a manned-door policy whereby only a member of staff physically opens and closes the entrance door.
