Sabrina - Nursery Manager / Person in Charge
Sabrina has worked at The Lyme Nursery since 2000. With two children of her own Sabrina not only has an abundance of academic knowledge and qualifications DNN (NNEB), NVQ4 in Leadership & Management and Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies but first-hand experience of babies and young children. Sabrina is a very calming character around the Nursery and always brings out the best in children and staff. She has attended numerous training courses on EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and is the Nursery's Safeguarding lead. Sabrina constantly thinks of new fun ideas and initiatives to encourage child development.
Lorraine - Deputy Manager
Lorraine (AKA ’Rain’) began her employment at the Nursery in 2018 as a Modern Apprentice. Gaining her Level 3 in Early Years Childhood Development Lorraine was promoted to Assistant Team Leader and then in January 2021 with another promotion under her belt she became a permanent Team Leader. After five years of gaining experience in all areas of the Nursery, we were delighted to announce another promotion in March 2023 to Deputy Manager. The children absolutely love it when Lorraine is in the classrooms, constantly asking her to stay and play. Lorraine is always so proud of everything the classrooms and children do. Being a creative person herself she always comments on their wall displays which show the artwork that has been created.

All our Early Years practitioners are qualified to NVQ or BTEC childcare standards. We also employ apprentices who are working towards these qualifications. All staff and apprentices are DBS cleared, trained in Safeguarding and hold a paediatric first aid certificate. We have nominated Team Leaders in each room who assume more responsibility and are given further training relative to their roles. We also hold regular staff meetings (after Nursery hours) to strengthen communication between each room and to discuss changes to the EYFS curriculum. We are very proud to have a low turnover of staff, indicating a happy environment at The Lyme Nursery. Children are able to bond well with the same faces, same smiles and same cuddles!
Here at The Lyme Nursery we are committed to ensuring your child is being cared for in a happy, relaxed and stimulating environment aiming to bring out the best in their complete development. Our nursery nursing staff spans four decades of age and experience, providing a rich and valuable cross section of care and understanding for your child's needs. With a portion of our staff being Mums themselves we not only provide the daycare you require, but we can offer help and advice on all aspects of raising young children, such as fussy eaters, sleep patterns, toilet training to name but a few.
